COSAS offers one of the broadest collections of Mexican Folk Art, Latin American textiles, clothing, furniture and accessories in the U.S. Each piece is hand selected and bought directly from the artists by owners Bob and Amy Niederhauser. Works from many of the Great Masters of Mexican Folk Art are represented, as well as painters and other notable artisans. Artists often create custom pieces that are unique to COSAS. We have been traveling throughout Mexico and Guatemala for years and enjoy sharing our experiences with others. We drive through the backroads to the small mountain villages where the artists live and work. We learn about the many techniques of ceramics - barro brunido, barro rustico, the art of Catrinas and more. We watch wood carvers, tin smiths and weavers hard at work.
