Roberto Castillo is known for his Casuelas – traditional to Metapec.  These massive pieces are each crafted with great care.  After the raw clay is fired, Roberto submerges the vessels using a rapid movement into a special lead free glazing pigment.  He then decorates the casuelas using various brushes and techniques and returns them to the kiln for a second firing.
