The village of Ocumicho is famous for its clay work and use of devils and Christian lore combined with ancient Purepecha beliefs.  One of the most famous artists in Octavio Reyes.  Known for his large naïve clay figures, Octavio is unique.  He is also known for his imaginative masks in both clay and wood; and his other brightly colored whimsical and humorous pieces.  He is truly one of a kind.

    This is another custom piece by Octavio.  This “Monster” has a skull inserted in it’s stomach and arms with “creature hands” that hang from the shoulders.  26” wide x 22”  $525

    This incredible clay “Wuaracita with Baby” is one of Octavio’s specialties.  He’ll only make them when asked.  29” x 10”  $42
