Guadalupe learned his craft from his father near the city of Queretero.  His intricate retablos are sought after and can be found in numerous homes, restaurants and hotels throughout Mexico and the US.  Each saint is hand carved and assembled on a larger framed piece of wood.  Mirrors and other objects are added.  Then the pieces are painted either in bright colors or more antique tones.  He is truly the best of all retablo carvers in Mexico.
